HealthMap

HealthMap (http://www.healthmap.org/en) is a global disease alert mashup produced by the Children’s Hospital Informatics Program at Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences & Technology. Disease outbreaks reported by a variety of worldwide sources are plotted on a Google map. Click a pointer on the map to link to the original report.

David Rothman’s new series, Web Geekery in Recent Literature, reports this new article describing “the design principles, software architecture and implementation of HealthMap and discusses key challenges and future plans.”
